Pilates is a mind-body exercise method with a history spanning over 100 years. Initially embraced by professional dancers in the early 20th century for its ability to prevent injuries and increase flexibility it is now practised by people of all ages and at all stages of life. Pilates improves core strength, balance and co-ordination. Its focus on the connection between breathwork, movement and motor patterning provides a firm framework for optimising movement and performance.
